Rest and relaxation are important aspects of every Rooted Renewal retreat. On Day 1 of our Taos retreat, we took a day trip to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. What an incredible way to ease into a weekend full of movement.

We start each day at 7am with an awakening meditation followed by a one-hour Vinyasa class. We’ve found this to be the perfect mixture. We ease our students into each day with a grounding meditation and breath work exercise. Then build heat and strength through a powerful Vinyasa flow. A nourishing breakfast is then served after class.
Keirst leads our morning Vinyasa class on Day 2. Our studio for this retreat was magical. Wood-fired stove included!
On Day 2, we were joined by a very special guest. Sun Bird (Than Tsídéh) joined Rooted Renewal to share his cultural wisdom and share his medicine by playing the Native American Flute.
Throughout each Rooted Renewal retreat, our students get a mixture of different yoga classes including Vinyasa and Yin. Every class is led by either April or Keirst with each bringing their own style and flair to that particular flow.
In addition to our morning and evening yoga classes, we alway mix in a creative workshop-style session of some form. This retreat included a new Animal Flow class led by April and an Introduction to Katonah Yoga workshop led by Keirst.

One of the 6 Pillars of Rooted Renewal is nature. We intentionally selected this property to host our New Mexico retreat because of it’s remoteness. Sprawling nearly 50 acres, there were various hiking trails offering opportunities for our group to spend time in nature together or in solitude.

New Mexico has always held a special place in our hearts. It’s the first place that Keirst and I lived after moving from Ohio back in 2021. It’s a place that continues to call us back.
It was such a special opportunity to be able to host a yoga retreat here. Keep an eye on this one as you might just see it make a reappearance on our 2026 retreat schedule ;)
