Retreat Recap: Austin, Texas 2026

Our first retreat of 2026 is officially wrapped. We couldn’t imagine starting a new year any other way. Our ninth retreat since starting this thing back in Summer of 2023. What a journey it has been. The places we’ve been, the community we’ve built and the growth we’ve witnessed is exactly why we’re here.

This retreat landed us in Texas Hill Country on 40+ acres of pure peace just outside of Austin, Texas. Before Keirst and I decided to move from Ohio, Austin was one of the places that we were considering. The wellness community is incredible, there’s live music on every corner and the food scene is enough to keep one coming back. So it felt a bit like a full circle moment getting to host our Rooted community in the Lone Star state.

Last weekend, 16 humans traveled from around the country to move, connect, breath, reflect and rest. Below are a few of our favorite moments from our ninth Rooted Retreat.

We hosted our first retreat of 2026 on 40+ acres in Texas Hill Country at Retreat Ranch. Plenty of space for everyone to explore together or escape for a few moments of solitude.

If there is one thing the Rooted Renewal community loves, it’s dogs. During our time on the ranch, we were accompanied by Junior, the ranch’s beloved Great Pyrenees.

Junior checks in on our Rooted family during our Chakra workshop.

One aspect that makes Rooted Renewal extremely special is how many of our attendees return for more than 1 retreat with us. Over the course of the 9 retreats that we’ve hosted since 2023, over 30 percent of folks have decided to come back. In this industry, this is unheard of.

I believe that this is proof of two things: 1.) We strike the perfect balance between rest, movement, connection and nature. We call this our 6 pillars and it guides every retreat that we host. 2.) We provide a safe space for others to open up to share and connect in a way that feels good to them.

2026 yoga retreats

We pride ourselves on offering a retreat experience that is accessble to everyone. Regardless of age, gender, race or experience with yoga.

With every retreat experience, we love to offer additional add-on activities that are relevant to the property or region. In Texas, attendees had the option to go on a guided horseback tour around the ranch.

Gabby has been with us for two retreats now. We’re so grateful for her!

If you’re not familiar with Rooted, one of the ways that we like to market our retreats is through our monthly virtual challenges. These take place primarily on our Instagram account and it’s a great way for us to meet new people! Occasionally, we’ll offer free or discounted tickets to future retreats. For our Texas retreat, Leo won a free ticket! He came all the way from Sacramento and we couldn’t be more grateful to add him to the Rooted Renewal family.

There’s a ton more that we could share. We’re still riding the high from last weekend and will be for a while. A while back, we wrote an article sharing tips for reintegrating after a retreat. Because it can be hard. So it’s something that we like to revisit after every retreat we host.

We have a packed 2026 retreat schedule and are looking forward to our next one: a Summer Solstice getaway in Vermont. This will be our first time visiting Vermont and it couldn’t be better timing. Our Rooted Renewal family will be growing by one as Keirst and I welcome our first child into the world. We’re so excited to get to raise him in this community and around such amazing humans that we’ve had the privilege to meet over the last 3 years.
