Retreat Recap: Nosara, Costa Rica.

We just wrapped up our second international yoga retreat! We had an absolute blast hosting at Azul Hotel & Retreat. Our days were filled with good meals, good yoga, amazing excursions and workshops. We left plenty of time on the agenda to rest, and catch a few waves too.

A group picture on our last day, after our last vinyasa class in the yoga shala.

The first day? Many of our attendees spent a long day traveling to our remote space! So we had a late dinner, welcomed our crew, and sent them to bed. Each attendee had their own room with luxury bathrooms, and some even had volcanic outdoor showers! Each had a king bed, that felt like a cloud. We all woke up each to waves, and jungle sounds. What a DREAM.

p.s we even saw monkeys!

We had a private beach, all to ourselves! Azul is located in one of the five blue zones and we can see why.

The first morning started with meditation, breakfast, and ATV tours. ATV tours were optional, and each attendee decided to go. We explore the beaches, and the jungles for up to 4 hours. Stopping to see howler monkeys, pristine beaches, and views you can’t get from a car.

After the ATV tours, Keirst guided us through a Somatic Techniques 101 class which was a hit. We talked about the 5 primary emotions, and the basics of nervous system regulation. Interested in learning why Somatics is so important, and what it does for the body and the mind?

April leading one of our morning Vinyasa classes. Each morning, Keirst and April guide the group through an all levels, vinyasa flow class with the ocean as our background.

On Day 2, we had plenty of movement, and April led an Animal Flow class, Elemental Embodiment. Each attendee testing this physical and mental strength and had a great time doing so. We brought Animal Flow to our Taos retreat and it was a hit. A chance to connect back to your basic, primal movements. Did we mention each attendees had the chance to add on spa services such as massages and facials? The most perfect scene to do so!

Throughout each Rooted Renewal retreat, our students get a mixture of different yoga classes and workshops. You can expect at least one class to be led by either April or Keirst with each bringing their own style and flair to that particular flow.

This retreat was a real treat as we had time to explore the local scene! We packed up, checked out farmers markets, and beaches around the area. Attendees purchased local items such as clothing, food, and cutting boards. The farmers market trip was definitely a highlight.

Our super fun ATV tours!!

Our connections go far beyond a weekend together. We keep the Rooted crew together via online platforms, and in person events. These connections build over the years. Many of our retreats have new and familiar faces. One this retreat we had 4 repeaters and 6 new friends!

We truly enjoy the connections we make and the relationships we can build off of. Each and every time.
